What is Old Library Studio ?

“I can’t imagine a better setting for learning the actual nuts and bolts of modern recording than Old Library Studio. The program shows kids exactly how to make and capture music on much of the same gear they will be using should they choose to make a career in music. Old Library Studio gets my highest recommendation – I just wish it existed when I was starting my career!”

Steve Berlin - Los Lobos and Grammy winning producer

Old Library Studio is a unique music-technology classroom and recording studio for teens. With technical and artistic guidance provided by staff and professional mentors, teens from a broad range of musical and non-musical backgrounds learn to compose and record their own music. Every program we offer results in excellent new music written, performed and recorded by our students, and shared on CD and DVD.

Old Library Studio has been recognized for artistic achievement by The Oregon Arts Commission.

Executive Director, Noah Kleiman was awarded the 2006 Skidmore prize for the arts.
